Exhibition Coming Soon

To kick off the UN Decade of Ocean Science, we challenged emerging creatives to design a poster to excite people about ocean science and how it’s still the ultimate adventure on our planet.

Selected posters from the challenge will be going on display at UNESCO HQ in Paris and at other UN locations around the world. You’ll be able to see the posters soon in our online gallery.

Creative Challenge:

With Adobe and the UN Environment Programme

Do you have what it takes to bring to life — through your video skills —why the world needs to save the world’s coral reefs?

Together with Adobe and the UN Environment Programme, we created a free climate change activity to get your students excited about saving the ocean. Educators developing their own climate change or ecology activities are encouraged to use this free resource, “Save the Ocean: Creative Climate Change Activity For Your School” These downloadable educational resources supply educators with everything they need to write their own poetry assignments, lesson plan, and exercises.

The creative task is open to students of all ages across K-12 (primary and secondary) and college or university (K12). Students are tasked with creating a short video (under 2 minutes) with Premiere Rush, about why the world needs to support greater ocean protection and climate action in order to save coral reefs.

The challenge is designed to help participants gain skills to plan, sequence, and create an informative and persuasive video, while at the same time developing knowledge about ecology, our oceans, coral reefs and climate change. This climate change lesson plan is also a great opportunity to increase family learning while we practice social distancing to help flatten the coronavirus curve.
